Reeve G. Jacobus Jr.
Reeve G. (Jay) Jacobus, Jr. has been a partner in the Ridgeland, Mississippi law firm of Williford, McAllister & Jacobus, LLP since its creation in 1991. He is a 1981 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and received his law degree from Mississippi College School of Law in 1984. He practices primarily in the areas of insurance defense, insurance coverage and estate litigation.
Jay is a member of the Capital Area, Madison County and Mississippi Bar Associations. He is a former recipient of the Award of Merit from the Jackson Young Lawyers Association (1990-1991), the Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year from the Hinds County Bar Association (1998-1999) and the Volunteer Lawyer of the Year Award from the Mississippi Bar Association (2000). Jay served as President of the Mississippi College School of Law Alumni Association for the 2000-2001 year. In 2005, he completed his three year term as Barrister member of the Charles Clark Inn of Court. Since 1998, Jay has served annually as an adjunct faculty member of Louisiana State University School of Law’s Trial Advocacy Training Program, a NITA-based program. Since 2004, he has served annually on the faculty of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy’s Gulf Coast regional Program in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2011, Jay served on the faculty of the NITA Deposition Program held in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has also served on the faculty since 2007 of BLG301, a trial advocacy in service program conducted biennially by Borden, Lander & Gervais in Toronto, Canada.
